Now for the weekend: On Saturday and Sunday, the subway, LIRR, and Metro-North will run on a regular weekend schedule. The only caveat: Montauk Branch trains will run on a Saturday schedule on Sunday.
On Memorial Day, the subway, LIRR, and Metro-North will run on a Sunday schedule. Unlike usual weekends, most service changes this weekend will continue through Monday night or Tuesday morning. Check out this video to learn why we do construction over three-day weekends.
Heading to the Rockaways for some sand and surf? Beginning this weekend and every weekend through Labor Day, Rockaway Park trains are extended to Rockaway Blvd. That means you can transfer to the from any train to reach the beach with ease 🏖️
Here's what else is happening this weekend (also viewable as a handy map):

Major subway service changes
trains, Manhattan, Bronx, and Brooklyn
From 11:30 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Tuesday, trains are rerouted because of track maintenance. There will be no train service in Brooklyn. For direct service between Manhattan and Brooklyn take trains, which will make most stops in Brooklyn.
- trains are running between Eastchester-Dyre Av and E 180 St on the line, between E 180 St and Chambers St, and between Chambers St and South Ferry on the line.
- trains are running between Harlem-148 St and 14 St, the last stop.
- trains are running between Woodlawn and New Lots Av, replacing service in Brooklyn.
- trains are running between Wakefield-241 St and E 180 St on the line, and between E 180 St and Flatbush Av-Brooklyn College, replacing service in Brooklyn.
- Transfer between and trains at 149 St-Grand Concourse, or by requesting a G.O. ticket from a station employee to walk between South Ferry and Bowling Green.
- You can also transfer between and trains by taking the 42 St , which will run overnight all weekend, between Times Sq and Grand Central.
- The following stations will be closed:
- Park Pl: Take trains instead
- Fulton St: Take trains instead
- Wall St: Use nearby Wall St station
- Clark St, Hoyt St: Use nearby Borough Hall station

trains, Manhattan
From 9:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Tuesday, trains are not running between 168 St and Inwood-207 St in either direction, and trains are not running between 145 St and 168 St. This is because of signal improvement work.
- Free shuttle buses are running on Broadway between 168 St and Inwood-207 St, and on Fort Washington Avenue between 168 St and 190 St. Look for signs outside your station for walking directions to the shuttle bus stop.
- trains are running between 168 St and Euclid Av, making local stops at 163 St-Amsterdam Av and 155 St.
- trains are running between 145 St and Euclid Av.
- trains also make nearby stops between 168 St and 207 St.
From 11:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Tuesday, uptown trains are running on the express track from Canal St to 145 St, and from 10:30 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Tuesday, downtown trains are running on the express track from 59 St-Columbus Circle to Canal St. This is because of track maintenance and signal improvement work.
- For service to/from Spring St, take the . (Except from 12 a.m. to 5 a.m Saturday. Use nearby stations at Canal St or Houston St .)
- For service to/from 23 St, take an uptown train and transfer at 34 St-Penn Station.
- For service to/from 50 St, take an uptown train and transfer at 59 St-Columbus Circle.
- For service to/from stations between 59 St-Columbus Circle and 145 St, take the , which will make local stops.

trains, Manhattan and Brooklyn
Uptown trains are running on the line from W 4 St-Wash Sq to 59 St-Columbus Circle from 11:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Tuesday because of track maintenance.
- For service to/from stations between W 4 St-Wash Sq and 59 St-Columbus Circle, use nearby stations on 8 Av, or take a downtown train and transfer.
- Uptown trains will make all stops from W 4 St-Wash Sq to 59 St-Columbus Circle, and continue making local stops to 145 St.
- Note: Uptown trains are running on the line from W 4 St-Wash Sq to Jackson Hts-Roosevelt Av.
From 3:45 a.m. Saturday to 10 p.m. Monday, there's no Brooklyn-bound service between 36 St and Coney Island-Stillwell Av. All Brooklyn-bound trains will run on the between those stations. This is because of track replacement.
- For Brooklyn-bound service to/from these stations, take a Manhattan-bound train to 62 St/New Utrecht Av or 36 St, then transfer.

Manhattan-bound trains are running on the line from Jackson Hts-Roosevelt Av to W 4 St-Wash Sq from 9:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Tuesday because of electrical work.
- For service to/from Queens Plaza during the day, take the . Overnight, use the nearby Queensboro Plaza station.
- For service to/from Court Sq-23 St, take the .
- For service to/from Lexington Av/53 St, take the and use the free out-of-system walking transfer at Lexington Av/63 St.
- For service to/from 5 Av/53 St, use nearby stations at 57 St or 47-50 St-Rockefeller Ctr.
- For service to/from 7 Av, take the .
- For service to/from 42 St-Port Authority Bus Terminal, 34 St-Penn Station, or 14 St, take the or use nearby stations along Sixth Av.
- For service to/from 23 St, take an uptown train and transfer to a downtown train at 34 St-Penn Station.
- For service to/from 50 St, use the nearby 7 Av station.
From 12 a.m. to 5 a.m. Saturday, trains are not running between W 4 St-Wash Sq and World Trade Center in either direction because of urgent track repairs.
- trains are running between Jamaica Center-Parsons/Archer and W 4 St-Wash Sq, and via the to/from 2 Av, the last stop.
- For service to/from Spring St, use Canal St or Houston St .
- For service to/from Canal St and World Trade Center, take the train.

Queens-bound trains are running on the line from W 4 St-Wash Sq to Jackson Hts-Roosevelt Av from 11:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Tuesday because of track maintenance.
- For service to/from 14 St, 23 St, 34 St-Herald Sq, 42 St-Bryant Park, 47-50 St, 57 St, and Lexington Av/63 St use nearby stations, or take a downtown train and transfer.
- For service to/from Roosevelt Island and 21 St-Queensbridge, take the Q66, Q69, Q100, or Q102 buses to Queens Plaza.
- Note: Uptown trains are running on the line from W 4 St-Wash Sq to 59 St-Columbus Circle.
trains are not running between Church Av and Coney Island-Stillwell Av in either direction from 9:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Tuesday because of signal modernization work.
- For service to/from stations between Church Av and Coney Island-Stillwell Av, use local buses or nearby and stations.
- trains are running between Jamaica-179 St and Church Av.

Bronx-bound trains are not stopping at 138 St-Grand Concourse from 9:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday because of track maintenance.

Pelham Bay Park-bound trains are running on the express track from Parkchester to Pelham Bay Park from 9:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Tuesday because of station improvement work.
- For service to/from bypassed stations, take a Manhattan-bound train.

Manhattan-bound trains are running on the express track from Mets-Willets Pt to 74 St-Broadway from 3:45 a.m. Saturday to 10 p.m. Sunday because of station improvement work.
- For service to/from bypassed stations, take a Flushing-bound train.
- You may experience longer travel times while trains operate on a modified schedule at slower speeds through the work area.
- Reminder: The Manhattan-bound platforms at 111 St and 82 St-Jackson Hts are closed 24/7 through Fall 2023 for rehabilitation work.

Brooklyn-bound trains are running on the express track from Atlantic Av-Barclays Ctr to

and trains are running on the line between Canal St and Atlantic Av-Barclays Ctr in both directions from 12:01 a.m. Saturday to 5 a.m. Tuesday because of communications work.
- and trains will make all stops between Canal St and Atlantic Av-Barclays Ctr.

Long Island Rail Road and Metro-North Railroad service changes
There will be early getaway trains on both LIRR and Metro-North on Friday, May 26.
Some Metro-North trains will also be canceled on Friday; get more details on those scheduled changes.
On Saturday, May 27, and Sunday, May 28, LIRR and Metro-North will run on a normal weekend schedule, with one exception. The Montauk Branch will run on a Saturday schedule on Sunday, May 28.
On Memorial Day, Monday, May 29, trains will run on a Sunday schedule.
