Happy (almost) 2023! We're here to get you where you're going over the holiday weekend, with extra trains on both Long Island Rail Road and Metro-North over the next few days.
New Year's Eve is one of the busiest travel days of the year, and if don't want to drop the ball, remember to plan ahead. If you're leaving Manhattan, you must have your ticket before boarding your train. Skip lines at ticket vending machines by using our TrainTime app.

Long Island Rail Road
On Friday, December 30, LIRR operates on a regular weekday schedule with 13 extra early afternoon trains from Penn Station.
On Saturday, December 31, LIRR will run 10 extra westbound trains to Penn Station, plus 15 extra eastbound trains to get you back home after midnight.
On Sunday, January 1, 2023, LIRR will operate on a normal Sunday schedule.
On Monday, January 2, LIRR trains will run on a weekday schedule, with off-peak fares in effect all day.
Metro-North Railroad
On Friday, December 30, Metro-North operates on a regular weekday schedule.
On Saturday, December 31, Metro-North will operate a regular Saturday schedule and all-night outbound service until 5 a.m. New Year’s Day. Alcohol is not permitted on LIRR or Metro-North trains from 12 p.m. Saturday, December 31 through 12 p.m. Sunday, January 1.
On Sunday, January 1, 2023, Metro-North will operate on a normal Sunday schedule.
On Monday, January 2, Metro-North will operate on an expanded Saturday schedule, with many extra trains running on most lines. Check the TrainTime app for exact schedules. Off-peak fares are in effect all day.
