It's the last weekend of July! Summer may be almost halfway over, but there's still plenty of warm-weather fun to be had out there, and public transit is the best way to get to it.
An important heads up for Queensboro Plaza riders. Beginning Monday, July 31 at 5 a.m., Manhattan-bound trains will bypass Queensboro Plaza 24/7 through 5 a.m., August 14 while we reconstruct the platform to make the station accessible. Use the nearby Queens Plaza station. Or, take a Queens-bound train to 39 Av or 33 St and then transfer.
train riders take note. Norwood-205 St will be closed 24/7 from 5 a.m. Monday, July 31 until August 28 because of structural maintenance. Free shuttle buses will run between Norwood-205 St and Bedford Park Blvd, and all trains will run local in the Bronx during weekday rush hours. trains will only run between Brighton Beach and 145 St, the last stop.
If you're jetting out of town, keep in mind that trains aren't running to or from Sutphin Blvd-Archer Av-JFK all weekend. Your best options for getting to or from the airport are taking the to Howard Beach-JFK Airport, the to Sutphin Blvd-Archer Av-JFK, or the LIRR to Jamaica.

Major subway service changes
trains, Manhattan and Bronx
trains are not running between Van Cortlandt Park-242 St and 137 St-City College in either direction from 12:15 a.m. Saturday to 5 a.m. Monday because of station improvement work. Trains will run between 137 St-City College and South Ferry.
- Free shuttle buses are running along four routes:
- On Broadway between Van Cortlandt Park-242 St and 215 St, connecting to Inwood-207 St .
- On St. Nicholas Av between 191 St and 168 St.
- On Broadway between 168 St and 137 St-City College.
- Overnight only between Dyckman St and Dyckman St . During the day, take the M100.
- Look for signs outside your station for walking directions to the shuttle bus stop.
- Consider using nearby stations as an alternative for service between 207 St and 137 St-City College. Transfer to/from trains at 59 St-Columbus Circle.

trains, Manhattan
Downtown trains are not stopping at 14 St from 9:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday while we make accessibility upgrades.
- Consider using the nearby 14 St station.
- You can also take an uptown train to 34 St-Penn Station and transfer.
- Downtown trains will run on the express track from 14 St (not stopping) to Chambers St. For service to/from bypassed stations, take an uptown train.

From 9:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday, downtown trains are running on the express track from:
- 59 St-Columbus Circle
- 42 St-Port Authority Bus Terminal
to Canal St. This is because of structural maintenance. For service to/from bypassed stations, take an uptown train.

trains aren't running between Briarwood and Jamaica Center-Parsons/Archer in either direction from 11:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday because of electrical work.
- Free shuttle buses are running between Kew Gardens-Union Tpke and Jamaica Center-Parsons/Archer. Look for signs outside your station for walking directions to the shuttle bus stop.
- trains are running between World Trade Center and Briarwood, and via the to/from Jamaica-179 St.
- For direct service to/from JFK Airport, take the to Howard Beach-JFK Airport, the to Sutphin Blvd-Archer Av-JFK, or the LIRR to Jamaica.
- LIRR will accommodate customers at no additional cost at Penn Station, Woodside, Forest Hills, Kew Gardens, and Jamaica.
Manhattan-bound trains are running on the express track from Jamaica-179 St to Kew Gardens-Union Tpke from 11:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday because of electrical improvement work.
- For service to/from bypassed stations, take a Jamaica-bound train.
- Reminder: The Manhattan-bound platform at Sutphin Blvd is closed 24/7 through August 4 because of electrical work.

- For direct train service between Manhattan and East New York, consider taking the train between 14 St and Broadway Junction.

From 11:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday, trains aren't running between Times Sq-42 St and Queensboro Plaza in either direction, and trains are running on the line between 57 St-7 Av and Jackson Hts-Roosevelt Av in both directions. This is because of station improvement work.

- Between Astoria-Ditmars Blvd and Queensboro Plaza
- Between Times Sq-42 St and Coney Island-Stillwell Av
- For service between Manhattan and Queens, take the .

- Queens-bound trains are running on the express track from 21 St-Queensbridge to Jackson Hts-Roosevelt Av, the last stop, after 9:45 p.m. each night. For service to/from bypassed stations, take a Manhattan-bound train.
From 11:15 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday, uptown trains will not stop at Jay St-MetroTech, Court St, Whitehall St, Rector St, Cortlandt St, and City Hall because of equipment installation work.
- Uptown trains are running on the from DeKalb Av to Canal St.
- Overnight, trains are only running between Bay Ridge-95 St and 36 St, the last stop.
- For service to/from stations between DeKalb Av and 36 St, take trains.
- For service to/from Jay St-MetroTech and Court St, use the nearby Borough Hall station.
- For service to/from City Hall, Cortlandt St, Rector St, and Whitehall St, use nearby stations.
- Reminder: Board uptown trains on the platform at Canal St.
From 9:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday, there's no Manhattan-bound service between Coney Island-Stillwell Av and 36 St. All Manhattan-bound trains will run on the between those stations. This is because of track replacement work.
- For Manhattan-bound service to/from these stations, take a Coney Island-bound train to 62 St/New Utrecht Av or Coney Island-Stilwell Av, then transfer.

Manhattan-bound trains are running on the express track from Gun Hill Rd to E 180 St from 3:45 a.m. Saturday to 10 p.m. Sunday because of track replacement work.

Brooklyn-bound trains are running on the express track from Atlantic Av-Barclays Ctr to Franklin Av-Medgar Evers College from 9:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday because of structural maintenance.

- Note: Overnight, when trains normally run local, they'll run express between these stations instead.

Long Island Rail Road service changes
Port Jefferson Branch
Trains are not running between Huntington and Port Jefferson in either direction from 12:30 a.m. Saturday to 1:45 a.m. Monday because of track and switch replacement.
- Buses are running between Huntington and Port Jefferson.
- Westbound buses will leave up to 40 minutes earlier than regular train times. Use the TrainTime app to view bus departure times at your station.
- To avoid busing, consider using the Ronkonkoma Branch on these weekends.
- Trains are running between Manhattan and Huntington. See the special timetable here.
- The last trains to run on Friday night are the 11:27 p.m. from Huntington (10:13 p.m. from Penn Station) and the 11:28 p.m. from Port Jefferson.
- Service resumes on Monday morning with the 1:11 a.m. from Jamaica
